About this Recipe

This tea is packed full of good stuff. Just hop online and google the health benefits of Ginger, Mint, lemons and black pepper. Its’s crazy. What’s awesome is after a few sips of this concoction and I feel perked up! I can’t tell you how many times I have gone to the store feeling sick because I just needed some mint leaves! I Try keeping these ingredients on hand when cold and flu season starts so I can whip up some get well soon tea at a moments notice. 

Ingredients

  • 1/2  Lemon
  • 1 inch Ginger Root peeled
  • 4 Whole Black Pepper Corn
  • 5 Mint leaves
  • 2 Cups Water

This is one of those recipes where all the ingredients can be adjusted to your liking. If you have an upset stomach maybe up the ginger. If your throat is extra scratchy maybe add 1 or 2 more black pepper corns. This ratio seems to be the perfect mix for me. You can also use the herbs for more than one batch. So when I am sick I just keep a small pot of this stuff on a low boil to sip on throughout the day, adding water as needed. It can really keep me going if I am feeling under the weather.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Add all the ingredients to a small pot on the stove.

Step 2

Boil  for at least 15 min. But honestly I sometimes let it sit on the stove on low for hours.

Step 3

Slowly sip and feel better.
